Each season takes a toll on our poles and so to keep our Berber tent strong (and pleasing to the eye) in these weathery times, we replace some of our older poles each Spring. And this year we needed a bumper harvest as we prepare to bring a new baby Berber into our flock!

Kevin, Will and Tom were this year’s willing and able woodsmen, scouring the forests of the north, far and wide to find the straightest but forkiest specimens. They hit a rich seam in a lovely spot near Cartmel in deepest darkest Lakelandshire.

It was a magical journey from the Yorkshire Dales, taking an entire day to collect over 40 Ash, Oak and Hawthorne poles. And now our baby Berber is taking form! Lets hope the sewing crew have as much luck creating a new skin for this little beast!
